Burberry Prorsum.

I haven't done ANY blogging through fashion week at all, I can't believe it!

I did watch the live shows on Vogue and flick through pictures from the shows and what not, very interesting stuff this season!

My favourite show was definitely the Burberry Prorsum show! The tailored the trench coats, the patterns, the spiked gloves! I was green with envy when I saw the models walking down the catwalk.

The flat caps and boyfriend shirt gave this outfit a masculine look. The knee length skirt makes the outfit feminine again but also adds this sort of military feel to the outfit. The burgundy bow belt adds a bit of life into the outfit. The two pocket like things on the skirts are nice addition, it completely changes the style of the skirt.

This tweed trench coat screams sophistication. I think the coat would also look nice in a Mustard colour. The spiked gloves add a nice touch of edge to it. A Nice simple coat for autumn that just oozes style and charm.

I love the suede/velvet texture and the shade of the brown really make it stand out!
The bomber jacket that the male model is wearing is to die for! I would wear that coat so much, its gorgeous!

My favourite piece from the whole collection has to be this stunning quilted deep purple coat with the brown bow belt around it. The colours are perfect for autumn, lovely deep, rich colours, makes me want to go out and kick the leaves around. The studded gloves with this coat gives it the perfect outerwear look. If I could get my hands on this coat ... Oh my! I would never come out of it! It is just beyond perfection!

Oh! and the final walk was just AMAZING! Burberry managed to create a rainstorm on top of the clear tent in which the fashion show was hosted in. The models walked out with this seasons striped umbrellas, looking absolutely FAB! The colours of the umbrellas are so great!

Christopher Bailey created an amazing collection! Timeless pieces in modern styles using and amazing colour palette! Well done!

Pretty Prints.

Trend Alert: Patterns and prints.

This season prints are in full force, everywhere you look there's a wonderful print floating about.

My favourite print that I've seen so far is the 'ASOS Exclusive bodycon dress in Yokopop print' (£40) Even though the print is a lot it works I think because of the length. This Midi length dress is perfect for a dinner date or a nice evening out because of the length. As it is a bodycon dress it really hugs your figure and shows you off. This dress is best worn with heels, I personally think that it looks rather weird with flats.
Add a splash of colour to this dress to liven it up and really stand out.

The smudge floral backpack from topshop (£32) would be a lovely addition to your bag collection. To me the print doesn't look very floral like but it definitely looks smudged, I love the pink and blue mixed together. Backpacks are so cute and fun, I love them but find it hard to wear them.

I first saw these shoes in 'Choice' and have been eyeing them up since. The Melissa 'Peace'  super platform wedges are perfect for summer! The bright coloured soles and the amazing  Aztec like print made using glass beads adds a nice vibrant feel to these magnificent shoes. The little tassel detail on the front of the wedges adds a lovely detail to the Aztec/Mexican style. I saw these shoes in Choice for I think it was £75, ASOS also have these shoes but they at £95.

Prints are best worked with plain items for example a print top and true blue denim jeans. Print clashes can work but they can be very tricky to pull off. If you are able to pull of a print clash, I salute you!

I say keep a few key print detail items in your wardrobe, not too many though! Definitely have a few print dresses and tops because they can be worn easily and with minimal effort.

Will you be rocking prints this season?

Fabulously Floral

Ever since my friend introduced me to Dr Martens boots about 2 years ago I've really grown to adore them! At first I thought that they were horrible, huge, hefty boots but as I looked into them more they grew on me and I could really see myself in a pair.

So I got my first pair of Dr Marten from TK MAXX for £30!! (Very lucky purchase) They were the Serena 8 eyelet boots in dark brown suede, lined with cream fur. Perfect for winter and up until now I still wear these boots!

Dr Marten have just released their S/S '12 collection and OMG they are AMAZING! Loads of floral and tapestry and materials! I went into a shop named 'Choice' in Westfield (White City) which sells like designer clothes, shoes, accessories etc. So when I went in there my eyes locked onto this pair of Dr Martens which is way off my usual style.

I saw these and I melted. I fell in love. These super cute 3 eyelet 1461 Dr Martens are gorgeous! perfect for the summer time. I tried them one and wanted to run out the shop! They are so so so comfortable like all Dr Marten shoes/boots are.

I think what i love most about the new collection is the style of the shoes and the prints, I'm sick and tired of seeing black or pink patent Doc's being worn by (mainly) girls thinking that they look amazing ... to be honest they look a bit tacky to me ...

These shoes also from the new collection are really nice, I really like the glossy finish to them. Also the white on the dark sole looks really good, I would wear these with a fitted suit, shirt and bow tie for a manly sophisticated look.

What I love most about these boots is the tapestry detail. They remind me of like a vintage item. This definitely brings a new look to Dr Martens style with softer styles and pretty patterns.

I will 100% be making a purchase of my second pair of Dr Martens, I'm so excited! Honestly I don't think I've ever wanted a pair of shoes more than these! so practical and comfy ... I'll get an earful from my mum though!

What do you think about the new collection? Do you see yourself making a purchase?

Light and Bright

One of THE HOTTEST trends of this season is Pastel colours. This sits perfectly with me because I absolutely adore pastel colours, they're so dainty and pretty ... Gorgeous!

My favourite catwalk displaying the use of pastel colours definitely has to be the Johnathon Saunder 2012 collection.

The tie dye effect on the dress in the first picture works really well, i love how the colours blends so subtly. What I also love about this collection is that Johnathon Saunders also incorporated prints into his designs, mixing 2 trends into one, very inspiring.

Loving the Louis Vuitton ad campaign that's out at the moment, reminds me of a little diner in the 50's. The cute slightly structured dresses, the pretty up do's, everything fits perfectly. In fact, the more I look at it, the more I think 'wow there is a LOT of pink in this picture' but I love it all the same!

This trend is right up my street and as I type this I'm hunting for some more cute pastel items to add to my wardrobe, I think its a lovely change from the bright colour blocking trend of last season and works perfectly as we're coming up to Easter, a time where you are much more likely to see pastel colours.

Enjoy super sweet pastels with cute dainty jewellery to complete the look.
