#OOTD 8.7.13

I cannot believe how long its been since I posted a blog!

I've been constantly ill and working for the last 6 weeks or so, drained isn't even the word!

Yesterday was the only day I have off work for the week, so I thought I'd make the most of it and the gorgeous sun!

Here I'm wearing a classic black camisole from Topshop, a gold belt from Zara, a a black maxi skirt from primark.

I also wore a orange bandeau under my cami to ... protect myself lol.

Being 5'1 is so difficult, I can never find maxi items at the right length for me, even petite ones come up super long sometimes. I had to pull the skirt up quite high, I thought the belt would be a great way to sort of mask just how high it is ... I mean it's practically touching my chin!
I also wore the camisole instead of a vest top as it was much more flowy and comfortable.

Hair and face wise, I kept my hair simple and out of my face, with a french twist on one side and the other side pinned back. Definately my go to hairstyle. On my ears I'm wearing gold 'leaf' shape studs.
I used my Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Powder with SPF 20, to both protect my skin and give me a flawless finish.
On my lips I am wearing my YSL lipstick in the colour #31, Rose Fusain. I adore this deep velvety purple/pink lipstick, and the formula ... Fantastic. Nice and creamy, not drying and stayed on ALL day!
To add a sort of 'Chic' look to my outfit, I wore my floppy straw sun hat from Zara. I got this for my holiday in Turkey 3 months ago, it cost £20. Not sure if the still have it in stock.

I Added my bright orange bag from Zara (which actually broke that day -_-) to give my outfit a pop of colour. On my feet I wore brown rope tied sandals from Dune.

Hope you're all enjoying the gorgeous weather were having in the UK!

OOTD: Casual brights.

Yesterday the sun was shining so bright! It was amazing, finally London was getting a sprinkle of summer. I met up with a friend I haven't seen in a while and went shopping and out for a quick dinner.

I decided to wear bright colours as knowing England I probably wont be able to do so for a while!

Top - H&M
Leather Look Skirt - InLoveWithFashion
Black Frilly Socks - Topshop
Jordan 5 Bright Citrus

I also wore a black leather jacket on top for when it got a little chilly later in the evening. The bag I carried was the Orange Zara bag featured in my earlier blog post about the Beyonce concert.

This outfit was perfect, comfortable enough to shop all day and look stylish! It's also the first time I had EVER worn my Jordan's out ... In fact they're my first pair of Jordan's!

Fresh Scents.

Hey guys,

Lately I've been obsessed with finding things to decorate my room with. At the moment its a very girly yet sophisticated pastel pink with a cornflour blue accent wall, I adore these two colours together, I find them really calming after a long day of work or shopping!

To give my room an even more sophisticated, almost grown up look I've been looking around for little decorative pieces, i.e vases, photo frames etc.

I was looking at candles and naturally I went straight to Yankee candles, EVERYONE loves Yankees! Luckily they had and offer on: Medium 2 wick tumbler candles for £10. It was exactly what I was looking for, I love 2 wick candles. They did have a limited selection (about 20 candles) so there wasn't heaps to choose from. I was looking for spring time scents, floral, fruity, ocean like; I love matching scents to the current season.

I came across 2 scent's that I thought would be really interesting and fit perfectly with what 'should' be spring/summer.

This first candle I got was 'Vanilla Lime'. It's a perfectly balanced mix of the two flavours so it doesn't smell sour or cake like. The perfect amount of citrus. Also vanilla is one of my all time favourite scents for the home.

The second, and probably my favourite scent is the 'Waikiki Melon' flavour. Oh my goodness, I absolutely detest eating melon so I was a bit sceptical about this candle but as soon as I took my first sniff I fell in love. Probably the sweetest melon scent. Also has this slight floral undertone to it. Vibrant and energising, the best smell to come home to.

What I love about Yankee candles is that they're not overpowering, the burn well (you don't get the dip in the middle where most the candle is left of the sides) and they last pretty long. Although they are a little pricey I think they're great value for money!

I've been alternating scents each day so they both get a fair use.

I really want to smell the 'Pineapple Cilantro' scent that Yankee do, I can imagine it being almost edible.

What scents do you like to burn in your room or home?

Hope your boudoirs smell amazing like mine! x

Skincare Regime.

Hey readers. Yet again it's been about 2 weeks or more since my last post, I'm sorry! Working 2 jobs back to back has left me with no time to myself :(

Alas here I am, posting, about how I've been able to keep my face looking alive and well, while I actually feel like a zombie.

About 3/4 weeks ago I decided it was time to introduce a skin care regime into my daily craziness. A friend of mine introduced me to Liz Earle products a few years back so I immediately went to look at those products. After having a good ol' chit chat with one of the staff she recommended the 'cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser'

I got the cleanse and polish hot cloth starter kit as I had never used it before.
The kit contains: the hot cloth cleanser. 2 muslin cloths and it comes with a handy travel bag.

The actual cleanser is superb, it has a nice calming scent to it. It has a pump nozzle so I just pump some of the product onto my fingers (foam/creamy consistency) and rub it into my face and neck. It rubs in clear. Almost like cream just with a bit more shine.

I then get my muslin cloth and dip it into some hand hot water and begin rubbing off the product. The muslin cloths help to exfoliate my skin. Instantly my skin feel smoother and look well moisturised.

Once I've washed my face I use the Liz Earle instant skin boost tonic.

I just swipe this all over my face and neck to help lock in moisture.

I do that morning and night everyday, it's really helped the condition of my skin. It used to be constantly dry now it is the complete opposite.

What I love about these 2 products is that they're for all skin types and they're easy to use, no mess at all!

For moisturising my face I use Nivea Q10 products.

Nivea Q10 is an anti wrinkle range, although I don't have any wrinkles or lines you can never be too young to use anti wrinkle cream! The consistency of these creams is rather thick which is great for people with drier skin. They're extremely moisturising, once I put it on I don't need to cream my face again for the day, which is rare for me!

The only reason I didn't get the Liz Earle moisturise cream is because I already had the Nivea creams. I look forward to trying it soon though!

The combination of these products work great for me and finally I've found a skin regime to stick to and that works!!

Happy reading xx

Bow Down for Mrs Carter.

Terribly sorry, so much going on with work and an attempted social life and holidays!

This will just be a really quick post for now.

So Sunday 5th May 2013, a date I will never forget for the rest of my life ... I WENT TO A BEYONCE CONCERT!

I'm literally sat here spazzing as I type, I can't even begin to explain how amazing the show was! Beyonce is a true performer and a spectacular artist.

At work we have a V.I.P box in the o2 arena, I was lucky enough to win 2 tickets in the ballot, so I took my concert buddy and good friend along with me.

My outfit for the night was pretty simple, yet perfect for spring.

Blazer - Forever 21
Camisole - Topshop
Patterned Trousers - River Island
Shoes - Forever 21
Bag - Zara

I'm completely obsessed with this bag! I really love the bright orange against the plain canvas of my camisole and blazer, it makes it POP.
The trousers from River Island were great to wear to the concert, they are quite loose fitting, so I was able to boogie the night away. I opted for simple white canvas flats with a few diver studs on them.
No jewellery, I'm still trying to get used to wearing any!

Our view from the suite was AMAZING!

Although we were pretty far back the Queen was directly in front of me! That black platform in the middle was like a mini stage that she also came on to. I barely took any photos as the lights were directly in front of us, making it difficult to capture anything.

After the show ended we stayed a while in the suite to just reflect on what just happened, we were crying! literally, we had tears streaming down our faces. We were completely and utterly mesmerised.

I spent £40 on merchandise! A little much but I thought I may as well, when am I going to get to see Beyonce live in concert again!?

BOW DOWN B*TCHES!!

P.S. I have a HUGE haul to post, like, ridiculously humongous. I may even do a post about my Holiday to Turkey 2 weeks ago. Look out for them soon!

Did you steal my Moms jeans?

Trend alert!

Everyone is so obsessed with the 90's again, I thought I'd join them ... although I was born midway through!

What I love about the 90's is the cool laid back vibe, the whole Fresh Prince thing, I dunno, just seems ... cool!

At first I was in 2 minds about the Mom jeans, I hated them yet I loved them, the loose, tapered fit, high waist, whats not to love? So I browsed ebay and found a fab pair of Levi mom type jeans, unfotunately I lost that bid.  Although while I mourned my loss I spotted a pair on Topshop.

Acid bleach wash high waisted Mom jeans, I felt like I was in HEAVEN! I mean, they were perfect! The delivery process seemed to take forever (as it usually does), but when I collecetd them from the store, I was so excited, I rushed home, forgetting I had other shopping to do. -_-

I don't know if this is generally the problem with Mom jeans, or just the fact that I have thighs but I had to order them a size up (UK 12) They're a little tight on the thighs and the stomach when I bend over, still working off easter dinner lol.

I also thought that with me being 5 foot nothing, that the jeans would be rather long, but when rolled up they look perfect, I love how baggy they are at the ankles.

I also styled them for a competion (hoping I win)

Very loose fitting from the knees down. I paired it with a 'cami' top in nude from ASOS, great little item for the summer. However as a 'bigger bust' lady these tops are damn hard to pull off! Also if you plan to wear it bra-less get pasties, these things are practically see through!

My Cami is also open back so a bra was ... impossible. Yet I must say, I do love the freeness of it haha!

Finally I paired the Cami and Moms with my Liberty for Nike, Nike blazers and a few small and simple accessories.

Watch - Michael Kors, monkey face ring and earring - Topshop and Pandora leather bracelet with charm. To me this outfit says summer, relaxed and fun. I even this this would make a great festival outfit, possibly with a fedora or bowler hat?

What trends will you be into this summer?

Rihanna for River Island.

Had a terribly busy last few weeks, hence the lack of posting! I wanted to blog so badly during London Fashion Week, I just lost track of time.

Alas, I shall still post about it, though I am a week late!

My biggest anticipation for LFW was definitely the Rihanna for River Island collection, hoping to see some edgy pieces and pieces where you really see Rihanna's wild, carefree attitude, I was horribly let down.

Instead of edgy cuts and bold pieces were presented with simple clean cuts, bold yet boring colours and some very plain items, did Rihanna really design this collection?

A lovely off white, long sleeve maxi, with thigh high split, both casual and classy. This style has been out for a while now, wishing this had something yo make it different from all of the other thigh high split maxis out there. I mean its definitely a piece that I think everyone should have in their wardrobe but just because it had Rihanna on the label makes it no different from the 101 others out there!

Rihanna has basically been wearing her collection prior to its release, a guess a nice way for us to see her actually wearing it and a good way for us to see what it looks like on. My issue with these two pieces is the materials used to make them, they just seem so cheap compared to what Rihanna has on. Whats the point of wearing your items yet selling them in completely different fabrics. The yellow dress on the catwalk looks so stiff compared to Rihanna's luscious silk dress, or maybe it's the lighting ... I sincerely hope it is just the lighting!

May I please draw your attention to the fishnet ensemble at the back! What is it!? I really don't understand this piece, I don't see anyone wearing it, it's definitely not in fashion and I for one wouldn't even consider buying this, not even to throw over a bikini on the beach, I personally think this is the worst piece of the collection.

These are the only two looks I can say I really like from the collection. They show a much more fun side and something different. Nice summer/beach pieces, especially the jumpsuit. I think the skirt is extremely cute and flirty and I love the cut of the crop top, sort of reminds me of the 80's/90's.

Possible buys here!!!

But this next piece!! Oh my word, my wardrobe is where it needs to be!

This skirt needs to find its gorgeous self into my wardrobe! I LOVE how high the split is although it is a tad risky. I also love the little tie knot that brings the material together. I would work this skirt so hard the material will be falling apart! club wear, beach wear, causal wear ... far from work wear though haha!

All in all the Rihanna for River Island collection is very hit and miss, more miss I think. If I was to purchase any of the items from this collection I wouldn't really think 'Oh wow I own something Rihanna would wear'. Could Rihanna have done better? Of course!

To see items from the rest of the collection have a look on Vogue.co.uk, these are just the pieces that really stood out for me.

Thanks for reading! x

If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?

Doing a bit of youtube browsing and came across an amazing artist!

Elli Ingram from Brighton, her version of Poetic Justice is just amazing! A much fresher, more relaxed cover of Kendrick Lamar's Poetic Justice. Also her cover of No Church in The Wild ... Fire!

She's definitely one to keep your eye on, I have a feeling she will be very successful!

On another note ... It's actually been a whole year since I last posted o my blog! I'm ashamed, hopefully I can get back into the swing of things!

Hope you enjoy the video!
